Sarah Hetherington is an art advisor and writer. Sarah was most recently Director, Galleries at Sydney Contemporary - Australasia's premier art fair, where she was responsible for sales, business development and the client relationship management of over 95 leading galleries from Australia, New Zealand and Asia. In 2023, Sarah held the curatorial responsibility for Installation Contemporary featuring 13 large-scale, ambitious projects by Indigenous, Australian and International artists located throughout the iconic, heritage-listed Carriageworks. Sarah has also held senior positions at the Biennale of Sydney, Liverpool Street Gallery, Sydney and Ivan Dougherty Gallery, UNSW, and was a Board Director of Art Month Sydney during its inaugural year (2009-2010). Sarah is now the Indo-Pacific Correspondent for Indesign and a regular contributor to Habitus Living and Artist Profile. Sarah has contributed essays and profiles for museum publications including Heide Museum of Modern Art’s Cubism and Australian Art and Artspace’s Column. She has also interviewed leading artists including Bill Viola, Haegue Yang and Lee Ufan and has been published in Art Monthly Australasia, Ocula, The Art World, Eyeline, Vault - Art & Culture, Artlink and The Art Market Report.
