Since 1990 Anne Sanders has worked in Australian public and private arts organizations, both as a consultant and in management positions, including at the Australia Council, Fine Arts Press (previously publishers of Art and Australia and Art Asia Pacific) and Sherman Galleries; more recently at Australian National University, National Museum of Australia, National Portrait Gallery and Australian Parliament House. Her background was in marketing, management and policy development and more recently, art historical research, curatorship and writing. In 2010, she was awarded a PhD in Art History and Curatorship (undertaken with an ANU scholarship) and was short-listed for the Crawford Prize in the Humanities. She writes regularly for art magazines and art journals and undertakes commissioned catalogue essays for artists and institutions.
