AICA is an international organisation, sponsored by UNESCO, with headquarters in Paris, formed to promote art criticism, to develop its methodology, to defend its ethical and professional interests, and to foster international cooperation in the field of art. The Australian Section includes many of our leading art critics as well as a number of distinguished art historians and scholars.

The AU Section of AICA comprises over 95+ critics, art writers, curators and scholars throughout the country. Reflecting the ethos of its parent organisation, AICA-AU aims to foster critical writing and thinking about art and to support a new generation of critics.

As an ever-evolving organisation, AICA-AU encourages members to take part in the shaping of the Association through suggesting ideas for discussion and helping with programmes, projects and events.

Membership costs $80pa, plus a one-off $100 joining fee. Apply to join
