Liz Nowell is Director of the Institute of Modern Art, Brisbane. Prior to this, Liz was founding CEO of ACE Open, Adelaide and Executive Director, Contemporary Art Centre of South Australia. Curatorial projects include Invisible Border: Khadim Ali (IMA, Brisbane and UNSW Galleries, Sydney); CREATURE: Marianna Simnett (co-curator, IMA, Brisbane and City Gallery Wellington); Next Matriarch, co-curated with Kimberley Moulton (ACE Open, Adelaide and Koori Heritage Trust, Melbourne); putsch: proppaNOW (Adelaide Festival) and The Violet Ballet, Sally Smart (ACE Open, Adelaide).
